Heritage
Founded in 1952 in Tsukiji, Tokyo, as Hino Metal Industries Co., Ltd.
In 1957, we pivoted to optical instrument manufacturing
under the philosophy "let's build affordable telescopes that everyone can enjoy."
Landmark products include the 10cm reflector equatorial mount "H-100" (1966)
and the "AR-series equatorial mount" (1977),
both leaving their mark on the history of astronomical telescopes.

The name "MIZAR" is derived from a star in the Big Dipper of Ursa Major.
